VeloColour -Custom Paint & Cycling Goods

VéloColour Paint

Open since 2008 VéloColour is a custom painting shop in Toronto that specializes in contemporary bicycle painting and design as well as top-quality vintage bicycle paint restoration.

Owner and head painter Noah Rosen got his start in 2005 painting bikes for bicycle expert Mike Barry Sr. Initially, highly regarded as a paint restoration shop, VéloColour is now considered to be one of North America’s best custom painters.

Cinelli, Colnago, EddyMerckx, Legnano, Rene Herse are all familiar names around the shop along side modern aluminum, carbon, steel and titanium frames from custom builders and bigger name brands as well. Brands and styles too numerous to list, VéloColour has painted everything from road, cx, commuter, track and touring bikes to mountain bikes and tandems, they have all come through the shop for refinishing or a special touch.

Over the years VeloColour has had the chance to paint for several great people within the cycling community and beyond, including the current Pope, Pope Francis.

Bikes & Products
VéloColour – Pink Sparkle Fade:

While we might be known for modest, hard edge paint design we still like to lighten things up once in a while.
This full carbon Focus frame set is sure to get noticed with its bright metallic pink finish and heavy multi-coloured flake addition. The pink fades into a tinted carbon rear end where we maintained just a couple of the original Focus graphics for a subtle branding treatment.
This race rig is topped off with a custom anchor head badge, hand-cut and painted in house.

We make each custom head badge from scratch, according to the wishes of each proud bicycle owner (or gift giver). Like the best tattoo artist, we’ll talk with you about what you want, working either from a sketch you provide, a photograph, a logo or just an idea. All custom badges are handmade either from stainless steel, brass, copper or nickle silver. Looking for more than one? We also do runs of laser cut badges with minimums starting at just 20 pieces. Last but not least we also have our limited edition headbdages found in our online shop.

More examples of our custom headbadges can be found here: http://velocolour.com/custom-headbadges/

VéloColour – A Kirk meets Frank Lloyd Wright:

We received a call from a previous customer down South asking if we were interested in taking on this project. He wanted us to have free range and come up with a design to fit this beautifully made frame set by talented builder Dave Kirk. We rarely say no. He gave us some inspiration and rattled off a few names, some artists, some architects… Frank Lloyd Wright was one that stuck with us. Suzanne took hold of this project and really outdid herself with the design. She also gave me a good challenge. Lots of fine line detail and the occasional block of colour fits right in to our style but we like to think this ones got a little something special.super detail3web

VéloColour – Camo Enve Fork:

Nothing like a little camouflage to keep up on our toes. This one headed to California to go on a straight Titanium bike, a killer combo. clip

VéloColour – Custom Paint, Fine Details:

front view

Our friends at La Bicicletta bike shop in Toronto sent this Look 795 over for a full custom design and paint job. The original white, red and black scheme just wouldn’t do.
We put a number of designs together and based the main colour on the customer’s matte pearl-blue helmet.
With an integrated seat post we liked the idea of a long racing stripe to pull the seamless frame design to together. That was the starting point and then went to town with a handful of complementary colours and lots of fine stripes for some extra style points. White graphics over a dark blue base meant high contrast and high visibility. An outlined graphic treatment was used with a 1mm line weight to keep this frame set looking fast with a bit of understated flavour. Painted stem, Enve bars and a few other little details really show that this was a fully thought out project and one that would be hard to miss rolling by at speed.
